Her Story

About Lisa

I've been in real estate for 12 years now, and honestly, it wasn't something I planned. I was a pharmaceutical rep for 20 years here in Palm Beach County and throughout the state. When my late husband was passing in the hospital, I got a call that it was my last week of employment with one of my pharmaceutical companies. After my husband passed, my sister reminded me that he had said I'd be great as a real estate agent. I told her that's not a career, but lo and behold, it turned out to be a career. I've been a Luxury Property Specialist with Coldwell Banker Global for at least 7 years now. Before that, I led a big team with territories in Naples, Tampa, Orlando, Palm Beach, and Fort Lauderdale. I sit on the state board and I'm a board of director and local director. I'm past president of WINS Council, so I've done a lot of leadership. This year, I'm being a little stingy and working directly with my high-end clients while still sitting on the state board and showing up for those activities. I've made it my passion and my duty to lead by example. I'm also licensed as a financial advisor, and I'm opening another business through HGI because I love helping people. Being a widow, I noticed that a lot of women are not educated in that way and feel like sometimes they can be taken, so my goal is to advise them on what would be their steps in life to secure their financials and also secure their family. I was also a journalist back in my day, a reporter, so I've had quite a journey.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to just being able to lead by example, being very integrity about everything that I do, and very, very personable and purposeful. Everybody always looks at me and wants to be next to me, and I invite everyone. That's what I notice about myself - I don't meet a stranger, strangers don't meet me, I don't get intimidated, and I think that's the most proudest of me. I've been along the sides of some great people. I even interviewed Jack Canfield, Tony Robbins, Lisa Nichols was my friend, Les Brown, all of them, with the notion of being just who I am, becoming Lisa Mack. That has always been me since I was probably very, very young, so I do the same attitude throughout my life, my career, and my personal life, and never swayed from it. So I'm very proud of who Lisa Mack is. I'm like a clone of my grandmother - she was in the Army, joined sororities, and became the first Black woman of color at Colonel World Hospital early on. She had the energy to keep going, and I have her energy to keep going too.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would give them to stay consistent. Consistency is everything. Do not waver. Have a plan in mind, go for that position or career, and pivot. Just keep going. Just keep going up the ladder. If they have someone else in their mind to release it, always use your mind to know what you want and go for it. A lot of people get persuaded by others too soon, and they don't know if that person really means, genuinely means, they're the best person to be giving them advice. So, always seek a person that can give them constructive criticism, and also great leadership skills.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Everything I do in life is on purpose. I live on purpose - that's even on my voicemail. I am a very Christian woman and I love giving back to my Lord. I feel like we should just fill our life with what we want it to be, so I try to live a stress-free life. I don't want to put too much stress on me. That's why I bowed out of so many boards or being committed to so many people. I'm committed to myself. As I've gotten older, I only do what I feel. I don't do it for the other person. I do it for myself to give back. I have integrity about everything that I do and I'm very personable and purposeful. I never swayed from my attitude throughout my life, my career, and my personal life.
