Based in the Toledo, Ohio metropolitan area, she specializes in thoughtfully designed luxury vacations, destination weddings, honeymoons, milestone celebrations, cruises, group travel, and customized international itineraries. Moman's professional background includes a bachelor's degree in Communication from the University of Toledo and extensive destination-focused training. She holds an Italy Destination Certification through TBO.com and an Aruba Certified Expert designation, and she is also identified as a Greek Destination Specialist. Her agency maintains BBB accreditation with an A+ rating, and she has been recognized as a Super Agent with Travel Leaders Network and as the 2026 Quality Business Award winner for Best Travel Agent.
Beyond client planning, Moman has expanded her role as a travel educator and author. She recently published The Italy Travel Playbook, a practical guide focused on helping travelers experience Italy more intentionally while avoiding unnecessary crowds, overplanning, and logistical frustrations. Through Lisa’s Chic Travel & Tours, she seeks to make luxury travel feel effortless, personal, and purposeful while helping clients make confident decisions about their time and travel investments.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lisa
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to consistency, resilience, and a genuine commitment to serving people well. I’ve learned that success is rarely one big moment. It’s the result of showing up, continuing to learn, building strong relationships, and doing the work even when the results are not immediate. As an entrepreneur, I’ve also learned to trust my instincts while remaining open to growth. I take pride in creating experiences that feel personal, thoughtful, and valuable to my clients, and I believe that commitment to service has been one of the biggest drivers of my success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to stop waiting until everything is perfect before moving forward. You can prepare, research, and plan, but eventually you have to take the opportunity, make the decision, and learn as you go. Some of my greatest growth has come from stepping into rooms before I felt completely ready, asking questions, building relationships, and being willing to evolve. I’ve learned that confidence often comes after you take the first step…not before.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women to pursue this industry if they genuinely enjoy researching, discovering information, talking with people, and building relationships. Travel advising requires curiosity and a willingness to keep learning. It is not always easy when you are starting out, and building a business around something you are passionate about can require significant personal commitment. I believe that genuine enthusiasm for travel and for helping people can be a powerful foundation for success.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in building a travel business is navigating the seasonal nature of the industry, particularly the slower periods that can come with Midwest winters. Pursuing a business centered on a personal passion for travel can also present its own challenges, especially when that passion requires significant time, energy, and commitment. At the same time, I see tremendous opportunity in helping people discover travel experiences that may otherwise feel out of reach and guiding them toward destinations and experiences that truly fit their goals and circumstances.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Education, accessibility, cultural understanding, and helping others achieve meaningful experiences are very important to me. I want to educate people about travel and help more individuals experience different cultures and accomplish lifelong travel goals. Growing up in the projects and later experiencing the impact of staying at a resort helped shape my desire to make meaningful travel experiences more accessible to others, regardless of where they come from. I also value affordability, thoughtful guidance, and helping clients turn bucket-list dreams into achievable experiences. Ultimately, I want to build something lasting—not only for the clients I serve, but also as a source of generational wealth and a legacy that I can eventually leave to my son.
