Born and raised in a small boating town just outside Boston, Massachusetts, Lisa's storytelling journey began early when her first book was published at the age of 10. That early success sparked a lifelong passion for writing, which eventually brought her into the entertainment industry, where she contributed to CSI: Vegas through brand integration scripts and crafted national commercials and live promotions for major television series including Hell's Kitchen and Celebrity Fit Club.
After relocating to West Hollywood in 2008, Lisa dove headfirst into the film industry, writing screenplays for top producers and negotiating multi-million dollar investment deals for A-list projects featuring the likes of John Travolta, Jack Nicholson, and Christopher Walken.
Always at the forefront of industry trends, Lisa is also an early adopter in the vertical content space, collaborating with innovative companies like PocketFM, DramaBox, Pixie USA, Dramawave, Vigloo, and more. 01What do you attribute your success to?
My east coast tenacity is responsible for my success. I have enormous drive and I never give up.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Get paid doing what you love and it will never be work.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Don't take rejection personally. Keep going. Keep in mind that some of the greatest movies, actors, writers, etc. have been told no many times before getting that "yes" that changed their lives. The movie JAWS was a "little" film that almost didn't get made due to money and technical problems. It went on to become the first blockbuster in film history.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Stay true to yourself and don't change for anyone. Dr. Suess said it best, "Today you are you! That is truer than true. There's no one alive who is you-er than you!"
