About Lisa

Lisa Pearl is an experienced construction professional and Safety Advisor with CORE Safety Group, specializing in commercial construction safety, risk management, and field operations. With a career in construction dating back to 2000 and full-time industry experience beginning in 2014, she has built a diverse background spanning cost control, project coordination, project management, field supervision, and safety. She began her full-time construction career with San Juan Construction as a Cost Controller and worked on significant projects at 29 Palms Marine Corps Base in California, where she was part of a team developing Marine Corps training facilities under top-secret clearance, including work associated with Camp Pendleton. These early experiences gave her a strong foundation in construction operations, accountability, and working effectively in complex, highly regulated environments.

Before transitioning into safety, Lisa Pearl served as a Project Manager, Superintendent, Cost Controller, and Project Coordinator gaining hands-on experience across multiple construction trades and developing a comprehensive understanding of field operations. At CORE Safety Group, she provides safety advisory services for commercial construction projects, including high-profile Amazon facilities in the Dallas area and data center/bank projects in Wilmer, Texas. Her responsibilities include providing technical expertise in Occupational Safety conducting toolbox talks, developing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), performing daily and weekly safety assessments, identifying hazards, and helping clients strengthen safety practices and culture. Lisa Pearl believes effective safety leadership is fundamentally people-centered. She takes the time to listen to workers, understand why they approach tasks in particular ways, meet them where they are, and provide practical guidance that helps them make safer decisions.

In and Outside of her professional work, Lisa Pearl values integrity, family, personal growth, and maintaining balance through self-care. She enjoys cooking, archery and woodworking, activities that reflect her appreciation for focus, craftsmanship, and hands-on learning. Spending time with her granddaughter is especially meaningful to her and provides an important source of joy and perspective. Lida Pearl credits much of her success to parents who encouraged her to try new things and gave her the confidence to take risks knowing she always had a supportive place to return to. She encourages young women entering construction to “do it scared, do it tired, and do your best,” emphasizing courage and perseverance in the face of uncertainty. Through her work and mentorship, Lisa Pearl is committed to sharing her experience, supporting the next generation of construction professionals, and helping create a culture where every worker has the knowledge and support needed to return home safely each day.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Lisa

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the supportive and encouraging upbringing my parents provided. They always encouraged me and my siblings to pursue the things we enjoyed and never made me feel that I could not try something new. "Knowing that I could always go home gave me the confidence to take risks, embrace new opportunities, and pursue my goals without fear of failure. That strong foundation and sense of security taught me to be courageous, resilient, and willing to step outside my comfort zone.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received came from Bill Chambers, who told me, “I understand that you’re scared, but you need to understand that you’re going to have to do it scared.” That advice had a profound impact on me, especially when I was stepping into unfamiliar territory without prior experience as a cost controller and was preparing to work with a high-profile client. I chose to move forward despite my uncertainty, and that experience gave me the confidence to trust myself, embrace challenges, and continue growing my career in construction.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is simple: do it scared, do it tired, and do it even when you feel frustrated or uncertain. There will be moments when the challenges feel overwhelming, but those are often the moments that create the greatest opportunities for growth. Keep moving forward, trust yourself, and do not let fear, exhaustion, or frustration prevent you from pursuing what you are capable of achieving.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in the construction industry today is helping the next generation of young professionals understand the importance of safety and personal responsibility. Many young people enter the industry with confidence and fearlessness, but they may not yet fully recognize the risks involved or understand that their safety is ultimately in their own hands. I see a critical opportunity to mentor and develop this new generation in a healthy, responsible way by fostering a strong culture of safety awareness, and accountability, with the goal of ensuring that everyone has the knowledge and support needed to go home safely every day.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is the most important value to me, both personally and professionally. I believe it is the foundation of how we conduct ourselves as human beings, whether in our careers, education, relationships or with family and friends. Maintaining honesty, accountability, and strong principles in every situation is essential to building trust and living a life that reflects who we truly are.
