Lisa Presley
I am a leader specializing in system fidelity, compliance oversight, and state and federal reporting within public education. I design and implement governance structures, internal controls, and data quality frameworks that strengthen accountability, protect funding, and ensure audit-ready reporting across departments.
With deep expertise in PEIMS, accountability systems, grading and attendance integrity, and cross-functional reporting processes, I translate complex regulatory requirements into sustainable operational systems campuses can execute with confidence. My work aligns strategy, compliance, and data governance to build scalable reporting infrastructures that drive accuracy and organizational trust.
I hold the RTSBA certification and maintain active memberships in TASBO, TASA, TASB, and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). I am currently advancing a Master’s in Data Science and pursuing Certified Internal Auditor training to further strengthen enterprise-level compliance and reporting leadership.

What do you attribute your success to?
Most of all, I attribute my success to perseverance. There have been seasons that required grit, adaptability, and faith in my ability to keep moving forward. I’ve learned that success is not just about talent. It is about consistency, integrity, and continuing to rise even when the path is difficult.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever gotten was from a very smart woman. She gave me the advice her mother gave her: dont let those people cost you your paycheck. She said basically, you have worked so hard, don't let someone else have the power to take your hard work away from you. It has really stuck with me, even if I do lose sight of it from time to time.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Its easy to over-extend yourself. You think you are doing what you should by saying yes to everything and taking on the heaviest of work load. Pace yourself and before you say yes, make sure it is sustainable. It doesnt do anyone, yourself or your company, any good if you burn yourself out in the long run.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Right now the biggest challenge in my field is the ever-expanding demand on PEIMS Coordinators and the lack of understanding around how crucial what they do is for Texas School Districts. Over the past decade, the positions have grown to encompass more and more, playing a major role in ensuring funding and compliance for Texas Public Schools. The demand and expectations continue to rise however the importance, title, and compensation have yet to catch up.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, accountability, and family. I believe in doing what is right, even when no one is watching, and taking full ownership of my actions and responsibilities. I strive to build trust through honesty, consistency, and a strong work ethic. Above all, my family keeps me grounded and reminds me why I work hard and continue to grow.
