Coming out of high school with no clear plan or ability to go to college, I went to travel school instead because it was cheaper. I've spent 38 years in the travel industry, doing everything - I started as a travel agent and made my rounds through airlines, hotel companies, car rental companies, and tour operators. Being able to work in every area of the travel industry gave me a unique understanding of how to do things in the best way for a client's best interest. One of my biggest accomplishments was owning and operating a travel school with a few other ladies, which was incredibly fun and rewarding. The industry allowed me to travel and see amazing things, cultures, and understand the differences of people around the world - I would have never traveled outside my local area without it. When COVID devastated my travel company, I sold Medicare to make it through. Last year, I transitioned into financial planning, which is still sales but a little tougher than travel. It's hard to talk people into letting you help them, but it's incredibly rewarding. I'm able to show young families that they don't have to live week to week like we're taught to do - they can be in complete control of their finances and their financial future. The company I'm with is godly, the leads are real, and they really care about individual families, with a goal to help 100 million by 2030. My work is about teaching and maybe changing our country from the inside out for the better.
