Her Interview

Ten minutes with Lisa

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to using my voice, reaching out to people, networking, and being collaborative. In the past as a high-level scientist, these connections helped advance my career.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I received is to network, go talk to people, and be collaborative.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Go to therapy now. The field has a lot of trauma, and I went through many pages of articles seeing that.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The nature of funding has changed dramatically and the whole niche field is kind of collapsing right now. We need to stay relevant, study trends, and adapt to what's happening.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, scientific rigor, and helping people help themselves are most important to me.
