Her Story
About Lisa
Lisa Schmeckpeper is the Owner of Dental IT Consultants, LLC, based in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, where she provides hands-on training, installation, and clinical support for digital impression systems and 3D printers used in dental practices nationwide. Her career path began outside of dentistry, working as a website designer and marketer before moving into chairside dental assisting and eventually merging her technical background with her clinical experience to specialize in dental technology. Along the way, she earned recognition as a Microsoft Certified Professional and Systems Administrator, laying the technical foundation that would later support her transition into digital dentistry.
Over the course of her career, Schmeckpeper has held technology and management roles within private practices and large dental organizations, including serving as a Business Analyst and clinical trainer for 3Shape Trios digital impression technology at a multi-location dental group. In that capacity, she built training programs spanning restorative, orthodontic, and implant applications, while also overseeing digital workflows, patient technology integration, and support systems for multiple clinic locations. This experience deepened her expertise in digital impression scanning and 3D printing, and ultimately led her to launch her own consulting practice in 2017, which she has run full-time since 2018.
Today, Schmeckpeper works with dental service organizations, group practices, educational institutions, and individual practitioners across the country, offering customized training and installation services for tools such as the 3Shape Trios, SIRIOS X3, and SprintRay Pro2. She has delivered training at notable institutions, including a children's hospital in Dallas, the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and a dental school in Utah. Her professional philosophy centers on dependability and lifelong learning, values she credits as the driving force behind her success in an industry defined by rapid technological change.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to dedication and reliability. I make it a priority to show up, be on time, and remain professional at all times, even when navigating the demands of extensive travel.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've received is to seek out mentors who are willing to share their knowledge and open doors for you, and to take hold of opportunities as they present themselves.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women entering this industry to keep learning continuously, to actively seek out new opportunities, and to not be afraid of trying new things or taking risks. Above all, show up and be someone others can depend on.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is keeping pace with rapidly changing technology, which requires constant learning and adaptation. Balancing time effectively while traveling frequently and staying on the go is another ongoing challenge.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me are dedication, ongoing education, and reliability.
