Lisa Su is a globally recognized technology executive and the Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), where she has led one of the most notable transformations in the semiconductor industry. Based in Austin, she has repositioned AMD as a leader in high-performance and adaptive computing, driving innovation across data centers, gaming, and artificial intelligence. Under her leadership, the company has advanced next-generation computing platforms that power critical technologies and large-scale AI infrastructure worldwide.
Dr. Su joined AMD in 2012 and became CEO in 2014, after holding senior leadership roles across global business units. She later assumed the role of Chair in 2022, further solidifying her influence on the company’s long-term strategy and growth. Prior to AMD, she held executive and technical leadership positions at Freescale Semiconductor, IBM, and Texas Instruments, where she built deep expertise in semiconductor research, development, and large-scale innovation. Her career reflects a rare combination of technical depth and strategic vision, particularly in advancing high-performance processors and computing systems.
She earned her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, specializing in semiconductor device physics.
