Her Story
About Lisa
Lisa Throckmorton serves as a regional healthcare leader in skilled nursing and long-term care, bringing 22 years of professional experience to her role overseeing nine facilities that encompass roughly 1,300 beds and 1,500 employees. She supports operations from pre-admission through discharge while acting as a customer service educator, prioritizing employees as the first customers and residents and families as the second. Throckmorton leads by example, often trading business attire for scrubs to work alongside teams in admissions, nursing, housekeeping, and maintenance, fostering a collaborative culture rooted in the advice to see a need and fill a need, which she received from a doctor she worked with for ten years. Having transitioned from dentistry and practice management, she finds purpose in empowering staff to become leaders themselves and aspires to expand her influence as a motivational speaker. Outside her professional duties, she volunteers with Alzheimer's and breast cancer support groups and participates in Adopt a Highway initiatives.

Ten minutes with Lisa
01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received was from the doctor I worked with for 10 years who always said 'see a need, fill a need.' I live by that in my professional career because it means you're visible, on the floor, and part of the team rather than leading behind closed doors.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Step above the line of accountability and take it to the next level. Really roll your sleeves up and get down in the thick of it. Work alongside every department that you can, plug in wherever you can, and have the mindset of see a need, fill a need.
