Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lisa
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to building strong relationships based on trust and maintaining meaningful connections with mentors who have supported my professional growth throughout my career. Their guidance, encouragement, and willingness to share their experience have helped shape my leadership style and provided valuable perspective as I have advanced in the hospitality and events industry.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is simply, "Just go for it." That advice encouraged me to be confident, take calculated risks, pursue opportunities without hesitation, and trust in my abilities. It has inspired me to step outside my comfort zone and continue growing professionally.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women to recognize that events are often unpredictable and that challenges are part of the profession. The key is to think quickly, remain positive under pressure, and adapt when plans change. Building a strong, supportive team is equally important because collaboration and mutual support are essential to delivering exceptional event experiences and achieving long-term success.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in the hospitality and events industry is managing the unpredictable nature of live events and adapting to changes brought about by the pandemic and evolving client expectations. At the same time, there are tremendous opportunities to expand professional networks, embrace new technologies, and continue advancing into larger venues, executive-level event planning, and corporate event management roles.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide both my professional and personal life are loyalty, honesty, communication, and trust. I believe these principles are the foundation of strong relationships, effective teamwork, exceptional client service, and long-term success in both business and life.
