Years ago, I reached a point in my life where I really wanted to understand what my purpose was, so I started to pray about it. One day, I had an epiphany and recognized that in my full-time role, I was doing a lot of coaching and development, and that's really what I loved the most about my job. I recognized that it was something that was very impactful in the way that I was helping people. I had a conversation one day with someone about a session I had with one of my employees, and they were like, 'you do all that in coaching?' I was like, 'yeah, you don't?' And they're like, 'no, I just get them in and out.' I'm like, we're really trying to make an impact here, we're trying to develop these people. After that, I decided to get my life coach certification and I published a goal-setting journal. Once I did that, I kind of started doing a little bit of coaching on the side, and I just decided I'm just gonna create my own business for this. There's a lot of people who need help in the personal and professional development space, and I think I can help them, so I decided to start my business.
• Life Coach Certification

What do you attribute your success to?
First, it is my faith in God, and then the other two things are my parents. My organization is named JMC Career Solutions and Consulting, and that is in honor of my parents, Jerry and Marie. So, it's Jerry and Marie's child. That's what the JMC stands for. And so all of the hard work that I've been able to witness from them over the years, all the love, all the support that they've given me, this is my payback for them. It's all about making them proud, and all the mentors, and all the people that have been in my life, the hard work comes from there.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My best advice is for individuals to really tap into what makes them happy and what their passion is. I feel like when you are working towards what really makes you happy and not necessarily chasing the money, it makes a world of difference. You are more fulfilled, you can be your authentic self, your creativity comes alive, and that is my number one piece of advice.
