Her Story

About Liz

Liz Brashears is an executive coach, leadership consultant, speaker, and author of The Stories We Tell. Based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, she is the founder of Brashears Consulting Group, where she partners with leaders and organizations to strengthen self-awareness, improve leadership effectiveness, and drive meaningful personal and organizational change. Her work centers on helping individuals break free from limiting narratives and develop clearer, more empowering ways of thinking and leading.

Prior to launching her consulting practice, Liz spent more than two decades in human resources, talent strategy, and leadership development. She held senior roles at TriNet, including Executive Director of Leadership and Organizational Development, where she led enterprise-wide leadership programs, mentoring initiatives, and performance development strategies. Across her career, she has designed and implemented large-scale organizational development solutions, coached executives, and supported culture transformation efforts across diverse industries.

Liz holds a master’s degree in Organizational Behavior with a focus on Executive Coaching from The University of Texas at Dallas and a bachelor’s degree in Communication from University of North Texas. She is certified in multiple behavioral and leadership assessments and is active in professional coaching communities. Her philosophy blends practical leadership development with deep self-reflection, emphasizing that sustainable change begins with the stories individuals tell themselves—an idea that also anchors her book The Stories We Tell.

Ten minutes with Liz

01What do you attribute your success to?

What I've enjoyed the most is the people along the way. I'm a pretty social person, and I think just building relationships with people over the years, whether those have been people who've reported to me, or people I've reported to, or leaders that I've coached and led, and just getting to be part of other people's aha moments and their growth - that's really what I've enjoyed the most. That continues outside of corporate America as well, just with the work that I've done. It's what drives me, those fun moments. I got a text from somebody yesterday who's reading my book, and talking about just a huge light bulb went off for her on one of the chapters, and things like that. That's what is really inspiring to me and helps keep me focused on creating new content and helping others. When I think about what I'm most proud of, it's really the journey itself. I'm a big believer in personal development as well as professional development, and I continue to invest in myself and expand my own professional muscles. That's what I'm most proud of.
