Ten minutes with Liz
01What do you attribute your success to?
My core beliefs that I was raised with by my parents: do the right thing, always see the good in people, always see the bright side of things, and it only takes one person with one idea who wants to do the right thing to make things happen. My favorite expression is without change there is no opportunity.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
"It doesn't matter where you go college, just get the piece of paper and choose to be the best at whatever you love to do" My Father, Retired Police Captain and Decorated Military Hero, Front Line Army Korean War. " You only live once - Go For it!" - Peter Fioretti, Former CEO of Waterfront Invest who encouraged and supported me to go to nursing school. " Live With Passion" - Tony Robbins and "Always hang around with people at least as smart ss you are, , preferably smarter" - Kate Coyne former who supported me through nursing school. and COO RWJ Barnabas Health and CEO Animal Medical Center NYC (My daughter Kate is named after her)
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Find out what you like to do, what you're passionate about, and master it. Get certified. Pursue excellence in your niche and share your passion and expertise with others - IT MATTERS!
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The age of technology and AI tools, platforms and programs present opportunities to healthcare, supply chain professionals (and to those in other inudstries, as well Having the best and choosing the best to achieve supply chain resilience and deliver optimal and safe quality care is an ongoing in challenge, especially in healthcare. I love to have my fiinger on the pulse of "what's new, what's out, wose got something better" and getting the information, evaluating, supporting the introduction and implementation. Partnering with the right suppliers and choosing the best is of paramount importance for anyone in healthcare. Healthcare is a business, but it is a business like no other - we save and impact people's life and health - and there is nothing more important than that.
On a personal level, stepping outside my comfort zone as a software inventor (healthcare, not supply chain) is a bigger challenge. I have to revisit my IP Epic Training, and it will take a full year to get it out there! I look forward to sharing details (when possible) and to seeing it come to fruition and having a huge impact on patient care, patient outcomes and patient safety! By the Grace of God - it'll go smoothly.
