Liz Mallen is a business development and marketing professional with more than 20 years of experience building relationships, creating partnerships, and helping organizations grow across the outdoor sports, events, hospitality, and small business sectors. Based in Sandy, Utah, Liz currently serves as a Contract Sales Manager with Volt Cycle Wear, a custom cycling apparel company, where she develops relationships with cycling teams, clubs, and corporate partners while helping expand the company’s presence within the cycling and mountain biking community. She also works as a Small Business Relationship Partner with Go True North AI, helping small businesses utilize AI-driven lead generation strategies and networking solutions to support business growth.
Throughout her career, Liz has specialized in relationship-driven business development, marketing strategy, event promotion, and partnership development. Her diverse professional journey includes early marketing work in the ski industry, where she helped establish digital presence during the early growth of the internet, supporting the launch of Woodward Park City, managing business development initiatives for Summit Party Rentals, and leading sponsorship and partnership efforts for youth downhill mountain bike athletes. She is known for thriving in startup and small business environments where creativity, adaptability, and problem-solving are essential, using her ability to connect people and ideas to create long-term opportunities.
Beyond her professional work, Liz is deeply committed to outdoor sports, youth athletics, and community impact. She has dedicated years to supporting organizations such as Youth Sports Alliance and Utah Mountain Sports Academy, helping provide opportunities for young athletes through fundraising and advocacy efforts. As a lifelong athlete and outdoor enthusiast, Liz brings her passion for skiing, mountain biking, travel, and community-building into her work. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience and the strong work ethic passed down by my parents and grandparents. They taught me to persevere, find solutions, and focus on how something can be done rather than why it cannot.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to trust themselves, listen to their hearts and instincts, and pursue work that feels meaningful. It is important to stay true to your values and have the courage to follow the path that feels right, even when it may not be the expected one.
