Her Story

About Liz

Liz Quinones Rosas serves as Director of Community and Business Development at Rivers Casino Philadelphia, where she has been a member of the team for the past three years. In her role, she leads community engagement and volunteer initiatives, supports nonprofit and business partners through fundraising efforts, oversees events and catering sales, and drives revenue for the property’s event center by developing relationships with businesses, organizations, and community partners throughout the region.

With 27 years of experience in the casino and hospitality industry, Liz began her career immediately after high school as a cashier at Showboat Atlantic City. Her career reflects a steady progression across multiple areas of the industry, including slot operations, human resources, marketing, scheduling, and business development. She advanced through slot operations at Trump Taj Mahal, ultimately becoming a dual-rate supervisor, before joining Borgata as a Human Resources Coordinator and later Human Resources Specialist. At Borgata, she supported employees throughout the onboarding process and conducted new-hire orientations in both English and Spanish.

Liz later returned to Showboat, where she continued to expand her experience through leadership roles in marketing and centralized scheduling. Her professional development includes Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Green Belt certifications, as well as leadership training through Caesars Entertainment.

Deeply committed to community engagement, Liz is actively involved with organizations throughout the Philadelphia region. She is a member of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, serves on a board in the Fishtown community, and volunteers with organizations including the Philadelphia Police Department’s 26th District PDAC, The Wardrobe, TCRC, and JEVS Human Services. Earlier in her career with Caesars Entertainment, she also participated in the Savvy Group and Emerging Leaders program.

Throughout her career, Liz has combined operational experience, relationship building, and community engagement to create meaningful partnerships and opportunities that support both business objectives and the communities she serves.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Liz

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute much of my success to being approachable, treating people with respect, and always being willing to help, regardless of their position or title. I genuinely enjoy connecting with people and believe that being friendly, listening, and taking the time to understand what someone needs can make a lasting difference. Throughout my career, I have never been afraid to step in, lend a hand, share what I know, or learn from someone else. Building strong relationships and treating people the way I would want to be treated has opened many doors for me, both personally and professionally. I believe success is not only about what you accomplish yourself, but also about how you support others along the way.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Be yourself no matter what and don’t forget where you came from.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The best advice I would give is to always lead by example and put your best foot forward, even when things don’t go exactly as planned. It’s also incredibly important to find people you can lean on—whether that’s a family member, a friend, a mentor, or someone you trust at work.

Having someone you can call on a difficult day for advice, encouragement, or simply to talk things through can make all the difference. But I also believe it’s just as important to reach out on the good days. Share your accomplishments, the moments you’re proud of, and the things that made that day great. We all need people in our lives who can be there for both the challenges and the celebrations.

There are going to be bad days; that’s part of life and part of any career. Allow yourself to acknowledge those moments, learn from them, and then let them go. Don’t allow one difficult day to take away from everything you’ve accomplished or what you’re capable of doing tomorrow. Surround yourself with people you trust, keep moving forward, and always try to make the best of every situation.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
