Liz’s goal is to make career growth feel more accessible, give employees greater confidence in their next steps, and help build a workforce prepared for what comes next.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Liz

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute much of my success to patience and perseverance. I have learned that meaningful growth rarely happens according to the timeline we expect. Building a career, developing as a leader, and creating a lasting impact all take time. Patience has allowed me to stay focused on the bigger picture, trust the process, and recognize that even periods of uncertainty can offer valuable lessons.

Perseverance has helped me continue moving forward when the path has been difficult or the outcome was not immediately clear. Challenges are inevitable, but they do not have to define us. What matters is how we respond, what we learn, and whether we are willing to keep going. Some of the most important moments in my career have come from refusing to let a setback become a stopping point.

Together, patience and perseverance have taught me that success is not simply about reaching a destination. It is about becoming stronger, wiser, and more capable along the way. When we give ourselves the time and grace to grow, while remaining committed to our purpose, we often achieve more than we originally imagined.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to focus on progress over perfection. Early in our careers, it can be easy to believe we need to have every answer, make every decision flawlessly, or wait until we feel completely ready before taking the next step. In reality, perfection can keep us standing still, while progress allows us to learn, grow, and build confidence.

Embracing this mindset has taught me to take thoughtful risks, remain open to feedback, and view mistakes as opportunities to improve. Growth does not require us to get everything right the first time. It requires the courage to begin, the humility to learn, and the determination to keep moving forward.

Progress may happen one small step at a time, but those steps create meaningful change. When we release the pressure to be perfect, we give ourselves permission to be curious, resilient, and bold. Success is not built through perfection. It is built through consistent effort and a willingness to become better each day.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is simple: treat everyone with respect, regardless of their title, role, or level of experience. Careers evolve, organizations change, and professional paths often cross in unexpected ways. The person you meet today could one day join your team, become a trusted colleague, or even become your leader.

Respect is not only about building a strong professional network. It is about demonstrating character and recognizing the value each person brings. People may not remember every project you completed or every goal you achieved, but they will remember how you made them feel. Approach every interaction with kindness, humility, and genuine curiosity.

Your reputation is built through the choices you make each day, especially when no recognition is expected. Lead with respect from the beginning, and you will create relationships that strengthen your career, broaden your perspective, and allow you to make a meaningful difference wherever your journey takes you.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the greatest opportunities in our field is determining how to invest in human talent in the age of artificial intelligence and automation. Technology is transforming how work gets done, but it does not diminish the value of people. Instead, it challenges us to think differently about how we develop talent, build new capabilities, and prepare employees for roles that continue to evolve.

Organizations have an opportunity to use technology to enhance human potential, not replace it. That means investing in continuous learning, creating pathways for employees to develop new skills, and helping people understand how these tools can support their work. It also means recognizing the qualities technology cannot replicate, including empathy, creativity, critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to build meaningful relationships.

The organizations that will thrive are those that remain focused on both innovation and humanity. When we give people the tools, encouragement, and opportunities they need to grow, we create a workforce that is more adaptable, confident, and prepared for the future. Technology may change how we work, but people will continue to shape why the work matters.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Authenticity and accountability are two values that guide me in both my professional and personal life. Authenticity means showing up as my true self, communicating honestly, and leading in a way that reflects who I am and what I believe. It also means creating space for others to do the same. When people feel comfortable bringing their ideas, experiences, and perspectives forward, stronger relationships and better outcomes follow.

Accountability means taking ownership of my decisions, actions, and impact. It requires keeping commitments, acknowledging mistakes, and having the courage to make things right when needed. To me, accountability is not about expecting perfection. It is about being honest with ourselves, learning from our experiences, and following through on what we say we will do.

Together, authenticity and accountability build trust, and trust is the foundation of every meaningful relationship. Whether I am leading a team, supporting a colleague, or spending time with family and friends, I want people to know that my words and actions are aligned. Success is important, but how we achieve it and how we treat others along the way are what define our character and create a lasting impact.
