About Brendaliz

My journey in staffing began over 22 years ago when I started at the front desk with barely any English, doing everything from answering phones to filing and cleaning the office. Over five years with that first company, I progressed from front desk to recruiter, working extensively with the Hispanic population since Spanish is my first language. I then became a floater, visiting different companies to conduct inspections and ensure compliance, before moving into an on-site position where I managed everything from payroll to safety for a major client for three years. My career continued to evolve through recruiting and client relations roles, including one position where I worked directly on the manufacturing floor learning about machines and computers while ensuring compliance and safety. I then transitioned into an HR Assistant role and quickly grew into the HR Manager position. Because I was concerned about the constant complaints coming from the floor about racism and safety issues, I deliberately sought out a floor supervisor position when that assignment ended, spending three more years learning that side of the business. This experience taught me invaluable lessons about the real challenges workers face. When I was ready to return to the office environment, I interviewed with my now regional manager and joined Allegiance Staffing, where I've been for about four years, serving as manager for approximately three years. Today, I lead a team of recruiters, manage payroll, handle client visits and sales, post jobs across multiple platforms, and respond to any issues that arise at client locations. My office achieved the largest revenue increase across all 40 Allegiance Staffing branches in 2024-2025, and we've earned numerous awards including Branch of the Year, Safety Award of the Carolinas, most direct hire placements, and most great hires. What makes this work meaningful to me is seeing people succeed. I remember when people come in homeless, working to save money for a car, and then returning to share that they've accomplished their goals, brought their family from another country or state, or secured their own apartment. I believe in giving people the same kind of chance I was given when I started with limited English skills. I tell my recruiters that we're not just filling positions - we're helping people find jobs where they'll grow, be happy, and stay long-term, not just become turnovers. That philosophy of matching the right person to the right position has been key to our success.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to truly caring about helping people find not just any job, but the right job where they can grow and be happy. Early in my career, someone gave me a chance when I had barely any English, starting me at the front desk, and that experience taught me the power of believing in people and giving them opportunities. I learned that if you just place someone in any job because they need work, they'll become a turnover, but if you take the time to match them with a position where they'll thrive, they'll be successful long-term. I always tell my recruiters that we have to make sure people fit in their roles and that the positions we give them are something they can continue to do happily. This philosophy of investing in people's long-term success rather than just filling positions quickly has been key to our office achieving the largest revenue increase across all 40 Allegiance Staffing branches. I also believe in second chances and that people can change and go after what they really want. When people come here and share their life stories - whether they're homeless, trying to save for a car, or working to bring their family from another country - and then return to tell us they've accomplished those goals, that's what drives me. Knowing that I helped them and their families for the long run, not just for today, is what keeps me in this field. I couldn't go to anything else because this work is so rewarding.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I will say do something that feels you. Something that makes you happy and that you have a passion for sometimes money is not enough. What makes you a successful woman is when you know that you are making a change on your field.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most important values to me are helping others succeed and believing in second chances. I truly believe that people deserve help, even if they weren't the greatest in the past, because people change and they go after what they really want and what's gonna make them happy. In my work, I don't just want to give someone any job - I want to make sure they fit in a position where they're going to grow, be content, and be happy going back every day. I tell my recruiters that we have to ensure people are good and successful in their placements, not just filling positions for the sake of it. This approach has worked for many years and continues to guide everything I do. I learned early on that you can help someone today by giving them a meal, but if you help them get a job, you're helping them and their family for the long run. That long-term impact on people's lives and their families is what matters most to me. I also value gratitude and connection - when people come back with gifts for the office or share their accomplishments, it reminds me why this work is so meaningful. The same way someone gave me a chance when my English wasn't great, I believe in extending that same opportunity and belief in others.
