About Liz

My area of expertise lies in the health-related employee benefits space, focusing on ancillary partner benefits rather than major medical. I specialize in tax-advantaged reimbursement accounts, and I particularly focus on consulting on market trends, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning that leads to cost containment. What I'm really passionate about is that the benefits in this space help create access to healthcare as well as wealth management and retirement readiness for people that are often marginalized, whether they're lower-income earners, people newer to the workforce, or those who think they don't have the ability to save. Through these tools, I show them that not only can they save for long-term retirement costs, but they're also going to have a safety net that allows them to pay for the healthcare services that they and their families need to receive today. Creating opportunities for people to do something that they think they can't is really powerful to me.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think just having the courage to do more than what I thought that I was capable of. I wasn't always raised in the environment of being led to believe that I was inherently capable of success. And I decided that I was not going to listen to others, that I was going to listen to my own inner voice, and what I wanted, and not prove to others, but prove to myself that I was capable of anything that I believed that I could do.

02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The best way to encompass my value system is to govern yourself with positive intent in everything that you do and look for the positive intent with others. If we lead with kindness, curiosity, and acceptance instead of resistance, that would just make the world a better place and solve a lot of the problems that we have. For me, that should be the attitude towards people, towards animals, and towards the planet.
