Her career path was influenced by family ties to construction and a move from Louisiana to South Carolina.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Lizeth

01What do you attribute your success to?

My empathy for people, and my genuine personality. I have a genuine people-person personality. As my teenage daughter says, I'm a talker.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Don't take things personally. Everyone has bad days, but I always try to be positive. Your tone is the number one thing that they hear, especially on the phone.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Just go for it. I don't think anything should be a limitation. The mindset should just say, you know what, I can do it, I will do it, and just go for it. You don't know if you'll like it if you don't try. I've broken barriers as a Hispanic woman.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is accountability - people say they'll show up but don't. The opportunity is having jobs available right now and staying busy with work that people trust us to do.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

To be humble in everything you do. Be grateful for my job and the people I talk to, because I'm helping them open a door to getting a job, and it's rewarding.
