Ten minutes with Lizeth

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to growing up as the oldest in a family where no one spoke English, having to translate everything including medical visits, with my dad pushing me to translate perfectly. This skill directly helped me get my job at Good Samaritan when they needed a translator on the spot during my interview, and I performed simultaneous interpreting successfully.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would advise young women entering the field to have compassion and to understand the business from the bottom up. Start at the front desk to understand every position and the barriers staff face, so you can make educated decisions and lead effectively.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are trust and integrity. Doing what you're supposed to be doing even when no one is looking builds trust, which opens large opportunities for you.
