Her Interview

Ten minutes with Lizette

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

You have to be what is in your heart. Because if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. I gave my own advice the day that I sat there and said doggone it, I'm gonna go ahead and become a PCT so I can get my associate, so I can become a director.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Stop and listen and learn the process of what an admissions representative does from the beginning to the end, and not trying to change the process, because the process that has been written works, and it will be successful. Take people for what their talents are.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Internally getting things done quicker by finding good employees due to company pay rates and lack of employees in trucking. Job placement for students is challenging due to insurance requirements needing one to two years experience, though we have second chance companies.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I live, eat, and breathe the success of the students I sit in front of. When they come back and thank me and show their families are better and their life is better, that is my satisfaction. It's like a proud mama moment every time. I built my reputation through word of mouth.
