About Lizzie

Lizzie Gremminger serves in a customer success role at Me and Mine, an ed company dedicated to student well-being and mental health. She brings 15 years of experience in education to the position, having taught for 10 years and most recently acting as social impact lead at her prior school, where she embedded the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals from pre-K through high school across three campuses. Gremminger graduated from the University of Kansas in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and French and a minor in French. After teaching, she sought to impact students differently and joined her current company to focus on wellness and mental health tools. She has lived abroad for 10 years, including time in Prague where she founded a volunteer organization supporting Ukrainian refugees at the start of the war. Gremminger credits her success to encouragement from friends, family, and colleagues, and she emphasizes values of compassion, connection, communication, relationships, and curiosity in both her professional and personal life.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Lizzie

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the support from my loved ones, friends, family, and colleagues. The connections, encouragement, and general support helped me live abroad independently and take risks in my career.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice is not to limit yourself. If you're brave enough to try, you can succeed. Think and live outside the box, be brave to try new things and take risks, even if scary, as it is often rewarded.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Allow yourself to be curious and don't settle for the bare minimum. Try new things and don't be afraid to fail, because that's how you'll find what you're really meant to be doing and what makes you happiest, whether in education or ed tech.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Education faces controversy and funding cuts, making it difficult for schools to decide what they can do for students with small budgets. EdTech struggles with this but also with helping schools balance needs. Overall, budget cuts and lack of funding are the biggest issues.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Helping others and serving people is key; through that I am my best self, so compassion. Connection, communication, and relationships are important because valuing and respecting others goes a long way. Curiosity is essential, especially when moving to a new city and career.
