Her Story
About Lois
Lois Lee is the founder of Children of the Night, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping at-risk youth escape prostitution. Based in Los Angeles, California, she created the organization after earning her PhD in sociology from UCLA, initially intending to become a college professor. Her work encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from providing direct case management, tutoring, and counseling to developing scholarship and endowment programs for clients and their families. She has raised nearly $100 million to fund operations and programs, including international tutoring efforts in regions such as Southeast Asia, Africa, and Ukraine. Her path shifted dramatically after events involving the adult entertainment industry and the Hillside Strangler case led her to advocate for vulnerable youth, ultimately changing laws and partnering with law enforcement to protect children.
