Her Interview

Ten minutes with Lola

01What do you attribute your success to?

I have a very unique personality. I know how to connect with people very well. People open up to me. I'm very approachable. I set myself apart just based on my personality, how I make people feel after they leave a coaching, after they leave a workshop. They're empowered. I'm really great at empowering people to go out and be the best version of themselves.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

It's probably cliche, but it's literally the sky is the limit. You get to choose how far you want to go in your career. Choose wisely. You get to choose the next chapter in your life, in your career. I know I was living in my purpose, when I fell in love with what I was doing, which always centered around developing and helping others understand their true selves and their purpose.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't settle and don't limit yourself. You should always be continuously developing yourself, however, take the moment to enjoy the journey as well. And just be the best version of yourself whenever possible.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

As a woman of color, I don't see a lot of women of color or just people of color in general in the learning and development spectrum. I want to be an impact there. Personally, I have struggled with imposter syndrome at times and continuously ask myself, "how do I continue to be more innovative and creative?"

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Starting with my personal life, family, faith, and health. Those are big for me. I keep my faith first. It always gets me, keeps me going. My family's been my rock my whole life, and I'm just big on physically and mentally staying healthy to keep me prepared for the next opportunity, the next challenge and the next chapter.
