Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lola
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a strong inner drive and resilience that has pushed me to grow in challenging environments, particularly in the male-dominated field of aviation. Inspired by strong women who broke barriers, I’ve always aimed to be confident, capable, and unafraid to take on difficult work. Any doubt or resistance I’ve encountered has only strengthened my determination to excel and prove myself through results. Over time, I’ve also grown into leadership with a broader perspective—focused not only on personal achievement but on advocating for safe, fair, and supportive workplaces where everyone can succeed and provide for their families.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to trust your instincts and stay grounded in your own judgment. Over time, I’ve learned how valuable intuition, empathy, and integrity are in guiding decisions and building confidence, especially in challenging environments. It’s important to surround yourself with people who support and encourage your growth—those who will help you push through the next class, the next training, and the next challenge. There will be difficult moments, but staying focused, believing in your capability, and consistently showing up for yourself will make the journey truly worthwhile.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important value to me in both my work and personal life is the relationships I’ve built through friendship and community. My family is spread out and spans different generations, so my friendships have become my core support system and the people I intentionally invest in. I prioritize strengthening those connections and making time for the people I care about, because time is the most meaningful thing I can give. Being surrounded by people I trust and love makes both life and work feel more grounded and fulfilling.
