Ten minutes with Lorena

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to life in God and his divine order and divine plan. I've been extremely blessed with amazing relationships along the way with people who poured into me, and I've made a commitment to pay it forward and pour into others.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of the best career advices I've ever received is to believe in myself, that I'm more than capable.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

There's room for us, and not just one of us. It's a male-dominant industry with the one token woman, but we're at the precipice of a shift. There's space for us, we can take up more space. There's high demand for women now more than ever as women are coming to this sport and want to learn from other women.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges include shortage of facilities and corporate equity partners managing city-owned golf courses prioritizing profit over access, which eliminates membership programs that made the game affordable for seniors on fixed income and other community members.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Genuineness and authenticity are very important in my work, along with integrity and providing value so that people feel seen, connected, and that they've gotten more than they were expecting.
