Dr. Lori Fox is a highly dedicated literacy specialist and educator with over 38 years of experience in education, including a decade focused specifically on literacy instruction. She is passionate about designing and implementing instruction tailored to the individual needs of students, leveraging their strengths and assessment data to guide learning. Dr. Fox has extensive experience collaborating with teachers, specialists, and parents to ensure students achieve their full potential, and she is committed to creating responsive, hands-on, and inclusive learning environments.

Throughout her career, Dr. Fox has held positions ranging from classroom teacher to senior administrative roles, including managing operations for neuro-diagnostic and multi-physician practices. Her academic achievements include a Doctorate in Education (EdD) in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Literacy from the University of South Dakota, a Master’s in Educational/Instructional Technology from Dakota State University, and a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Northern State University. She has also contributed to higher education as a literacy adjunct professor at the University of Concordia of Nebraska, mentoring and training the next generation of educators.

In addition to her professional career, Dr. Fox is actively involved in philanthropic and community initiatives. She serves on the board of the Hockey Foundation, contributes to The Pack Program, and participates in church missions, including making quilts for girls’ homes. She is deeply committed to fostering literacy and education through various outreach programs. Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Dr. Fox enjoys reading, playing piano, singing, scrapbooking, and following sporting events, consistently balancing her love of learning with creativity and service to others.

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the strong work ethic and faith instilled in me by my parents. They fostered a deep sense of family and community, and my father often reminded me that with dedication and trust in the Lord, anything is possible. Their guidance has shaped both my personal values and professional approach.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering education is to focus on building genuine relationships with your students. Recognize that each student brings their best to the classroom, and approach every interaction with empathy, patience, and a commitment to understanding their individual strengths and needs.
