She holds a certificate in optician technology from junior college and has built her expertise primarily through on-the-job learning and life experience. Lori attributes her success to determination, being personable and honest, and treating others the way she would like to be treated, while valuing honesty, integrity, dependability, and humility in both her work and personal life. She notes opportunities in women taking leadership roles as decision makers in the optical industry and has overcome the challenge of not having a bachelor's degree through her professional experience. Lori advises staying humble, keeping moving, being the highlight of someone's day, making others feel special, and remembering that this too shall pass.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Determination and being personable and honest. Treating people the way I would like to be treated when I was a frame buyer. Having the personality and being honest and showing up.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Stay humble, keep moving, try to be the highlight of someone's day. Be sunshine, make them feel special and know that this too shall pass.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Opportunities in women taking leadership roles and being decision makers in the optical industry, which has been a very positive thing. Challenge of not having a bachelor's degree but overcoming it through life experience.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, integrity, being dependable, and being humble.
