Ten minutes with Lori
01What do you attribute your success to?
When I think about success, I attribute it to being truly grateful for life itself—my family, my community, and the simple blessing of being here each day. We all go through unexpected hardships and shifts, whether it is a career transition or personal challenge, but those moments do not define who we are. I know that tomorrow brings new opportunities, and I approach every day with optimism, kindness, and a commitment to building meaningful connections.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is simple: wake up every day, give it your all, and strive to be the best. That mindset drives how I approach both my work and my life. When I reflect on success, I attribute it to genuine gratitude for being alive—for my family, my community, and the gift of each new day. We all face unexpected shifts and hardships, but those moments do not define us. I know that tomorrow brings fresh opportunities, and I choose to meet every day with optimism, kindness, and a commitment to making a meaningful impact.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Believing in yourself is essential, especially when navigating challenging environments. Women are inherently capable and far smarter than others may acknowledge, making it vital to trust your intelligence and boldly champion your ideas. Even when facing pushback or toxic workplace dynamics, standing up for yourself is crucial—someone else's inability to understand your perspective does not diminish your worth or make your ideas wrong.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Navigating a rapidly changing world driven by AI while actively building networks and uncovering new opportunities presents both distinct challenges and high-value possibilities.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
For me, the values that guide both my personal and professional life come down to kindness, respect, and connection. I truly believe that a simple smile and genuine kindness can go a long way in brightening someone's day and breaking down barriers.
Growing up, my grandfather taught me a lesson that has stayed with me ever since: respect the person who cleans the street, because they work just as hard as anyone else. That mindset shapes how I treat people at every level. Showing every individual the dignity and respect they deserve—starting with a simple "Hello, how is your day?"—is central to who I am.
Getting to know the people around me isn't just polite; for me, it is deeply fulfilling. Whether walking through workplace halls or engaging with neighbors, taking the time to connect turns a physical space into a true community where everyone feels seen, valued, and included.
