Monarch Motherhood Coaching LLC

Lori Sigman, CPC, SPHR earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Psychology from Rutgers University, graduating cum laude and a member of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Lori is the Founder, CEO, and Principal Coach of Monarch Motherhood Coaching LLC, where she empowers mothers at all stages of life to build unshakeable confidence, prioritize their own needs, define and align their values in all areas of their lives, and release societal pressures in order to define motherhood on their own terms, without guilt and burn-out. With a strong background in Human Resources including employee and leadership development through coaching and training, Lori combines her expertise as a Certified Professional Coach and a certified Senior Professional in HR to help working, stay-at-home, and empty-nest moms with common motherhood challenges in the areas of time scarcity, the invisible mental load, finding joy again and redefining fun, physical and emotional exhaustion, others' judgments and reinforcing boundaries, relationship changes, financial stress, isolation and loneliness, body image and self-worth, and career and life purpose.

Through Monarch Motherhood Coaching LLC, Lori has dedicated herself to helping other mothers embrace transformation and growth, achieve balance, and pursue fulfilling lives that reflect their personal values. Her approach focuses on practical and evidence-based strategies, emotional support, and empowerment, guiding clients to thrive both at home and in their careers and/or communities and personal pursuits while releasing societal pressures and guilt. Lori is inspired to do this work because she found herself lost in motherhood without an identity beyond "mom" and without a sense of purpose outside of her role as a stay-at-home mom following her 15-year HR career. Her framework for other mothers' transformations comes directly from her own journey from lost to thriving which combines thought or mindset work with action plans and accountability for maximum and faster results.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my resilience, resourcefulness, and my ability to recognize and prioritize my needs in order to to show up as the best version of myself for my family, friends, community, professional colleagues, and my clients. Additionally, I attribute my patience, steadfast perseverance, willingness to take risks, and courage to following my calling into professional coaching. My 15-year long career in Human Resources also allowed me to learn what truly motivates people and how to help them grow and my professional coach training and certification has helped me to further refine those skills and add new tools to my ever-growing skill-set. And finally, the struggle with balancing ambition, identity, and self-worth, which I experienced myself and witnessed countless other mothers experience as well, inspired me to empower mothers to reconnect with their voice, confidence, values, needs and desires, work that continues to drive my passion and purpose every day.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received was any investment in yourself and your growth is always an investment worth making. The returns on these investments have always been greater than the investments themselves.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering both the HR and Professional Coaching industries is to invest in your growth, not just your goals. Pursue continuing education opportunities, certifications, your own personal and professional coaches, and constantly evaluate your values and how they align with your current circumstances and don't be afraid to make adjustments to keep your values at the forefront of everything you do. These things will help you to build confidence and deepen your understanding of yourself as a coach, professional, and member of society. Surround yourself with mentors and supportive peers, celebrate every small win, and give yourself grace, knowing that building a meaningful business and career takes time, persistence, and consistency.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is educating the general public on not only what certified professional coaching truly is and how it differs from traditional mental health therapy, but also on how it can deliver profound results rapidly. Additionally, helping mothers to give themselves permission to prioritize their own needs in a world and society that often expects them to put everyone else first, without any real support, can be challenging in the beginning of our work together as it takes time to learn to think and believe differently. At the same time, the coaching industry offers tremendous opportunity to help others do just that: learn new ways of thinking that can produce different, highly-desirable results in order to thrive regardless of societal pressures and others' opinions. It offers mothers a means to build unshakeable confidence in themselves and their decisions so they can be great moms and individuals too, without burning themselves out and without all of the guilt.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in my work and personal life are empowerment through self-awareness, authentic connection, integrity, flexibility, and self-prioritization. I strive to create spaces where women feel seen and safe, embrace growth with courage, and lead their lives with confidence, all while staying grounded in the passions and joys that bring balance and meaning to my own life.
