Her Story
About Lori
Lori Stotko began her career in hand therapy in 1987 while still in school, completing a clinical clerkship at Dallas Hand Rehab before being hired. She earned her master's in occupational therapy from Texas Woman's University in 1988 and a BA in journalism, art, and music. After moving to California, she worked for a microsurgeon in San Mateo and then for a sports medicine practice for 10 years before opening her own practice in 1999, which she ran for 20 years. Certified as a hand therapist (CHT), she developed expertise in treating complex hand injuries and transitioned into ergonomics consulting in 1992, a field she continues today for Exact Sciences, focusing on workflow studies and lab equipment design to prevent repetitive strain injuries. She also maintains a specialty in music medicine and has held leadership positions in the Hand Therapy Association of California, serving as vice president, president, and currently treasurer.
