Her Story

About Lori

I started my career with a background in real estate sales before pursuing my passion for the medical field and earning my nursing degree from Valencia College in 2016. I worked for 8 years as an open heart operating room nurse, taking care of patients and their families, which I consider my most notable professional achievement. However, the operating room is a tough place to be and it takes a physical toll. I realized I could combine both my sales background and my love for the medical field, so I transitioned into medical sales about 7-8 months ago. Today, I specialize in OR planning, setup, and organization, helping guide hospital customers through these processes. My typical day involves visiting hospitals in my territory, attending meetings with planners and sometimes general contractors, and occasionally traveling to lighting installations. I love that I can keep myself in the OR and in the hospitals and in the medical field while also doing the sales part that I like so much - talking to people and meeting people.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Lori

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to not settling and not letting the mundane be the mundane. I keep looking for the next adventure and challenging myself. I don't just accept things as they are - I push myself to find new opportunities and experiences that will help me grow both professionally and personally.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was to keep looking ahead and don't look back. This advice has helped me move forward in my career transitions and focus on future opportunities rather than dwelling on the past.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to listen to people. Be sure that you're taking care of them and giving them what they want, not what you think they want. It's important to truly understand your clients' needs rather than making assumptions about what they need.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge and opportunity in my field right now is being new to this field. I'm working on getting recognized by the major hospital systems and getting my name in there, along with my company. Breaking into these established relationships and building credibility as a newcomer is both challenging and represents a significant opportunity for growth.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are being honest, empathetic, and a good listener. These three qualities guide how I interact with colleagues, clients, patients, and the people in my personal life.
