Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lorraine
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the people who believed in me.
Every opportunity I've had throughout my career began because someone saw potential in me before I fully saw it myself. My professors, mentors, coworkers, managers, friends, and leaders all invested their time, encouragement, and trust in me. Without that community, I wouldn't be where I am today.
Because so many people chose to believe in me, I now want to do the same for others.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've learned is to genuinely enjoy what you do and stay curious.
Don't choose a career simply because it's available. Find something that makes you want to keep learning. Curiosity creates authenticity, and authenticity creates trust.
The easiest conversations I've ever had weren't because I was trying to convince someone. They happened because I genuinely believed in what I was talking about and wanted to understand the person on the other side.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Take the time to learn who you are before trying to convince anyone else of anything.
Authenticity is what sells.
The relationship you have with yourself becomes the foundation for every relationship you'll build professionally. Invest in communities, meet people, join organizations, challenge yourself, and develop your communication skills. Learn how to listen. Learn how to care.
The strongest careers are built on genuine relationships, and genuine relationships begin with knowing yourself.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges marketers face today is navigating an increasingly composable marketing landscape. AI has made it easier than ever to build workflows from multiple data sources, but it's also made it more difficult to understand where that data comes from, how it's validated, and whether it's trustworthy. Without clear standards and verification, companies risk making decisions based on assumptions rather than reliable information.
At the same time, I believe one of the biggest opportunities is rebuilding trust across the industry. Companies should be evaluated not by flashy marketing or recognizable logos, but by transparent results, verified data, and products that genuinely deliver on their promises. Trust and communication will continue to be the foundation of long-term success.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In my professional life, I value camaraderie, teamwork, and working alongside people who genuinely care about one another. I want to believe in the product I'm representing and know that it creates real value for customers.
In my personal life, gratitude is the value I hold closest. It shapes how I approach each day and reminds me to appreciate both the opportunities I've been given and the people who've helped me along the way. Gratitude keeps me grounded and allows me to show up as my best self, both professionally and personally.
