Her Story

About Lorrie

Lorrie Lynch has spent more than 45 years in the field of journalism, retiring from that career about three and a half years ago. During her journalism tenure, she worked at a small-town newspaper in Michigan, USA Today, and AARP magazine, where she found meaningful support from mentors and colleagues. She taught at American University in Washington, DC, and values education, openness to new ideas, and positivity in her work. Now based in Washington, DC, Lynch teaches yoga part-time at One Life Fitness, having earned her yoga certification later in life. She is a member of Yoga Alliance and previously taught yoga classes at her church for more than 10 years. In addition to her teaching, she spends time writing a mystery novel, her first work of fiction, along with essays and travel writing.

01What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I value the education I'm teaching, openness to people and new ideas, and positivity. I learned to be my authentic self when teaching and to teach people not poses.
