Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lucelenia (Lucy)
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to having great mentors and champions throughout my career who helped open doors and make connections. I am also very nurturing, which helps in building relationships and going the extra mile for clients and colleagues, and those small acts always pay off down the road.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received was from my VP of Sales at Alray, Mike, who told me 'you can do anything' and not to let other people's projections or imposter syndrome hold you back. Be curious, explore everything, and try it all because that's where you find the most reward.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't let anyone tell you that your lived experience is wrong or try to diminish it. Be headstrong and own your perspective, especially in rooms where others might try to intimidate you.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
AI is a big opportunity right now. Everyone is figuring out how to match human aspects with the technology without over-relying on it as just a buzzword.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Accountability is the most important value to me. I am the first to admit when I am wrong or made a mistake, and I believe it is a superpower rather than an attack, helping teams learn and improve.
