Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lucia
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to mentorship. As a young person I always sought the wisdom and advice of my elders. It's so important to have mentorship and someone to connect to, bounce ideas off of, and hold your dreams with you. Now as a life coach I get to do that for people.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice came from my NYU professor Dr. Source when I was a junior. He told me I would never pick up the New York Times and look for a job in the classifieds because I am a creative, a singer, an artist. I need to be at the helm of whatever I choose to do. I am an entrepreneur and will figure it out. That empowered me and helped me understand who I am.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Continue to listen and lean into the whispers of your heart. Do not abandon yourself or your dreams for anyone. Those dreams were put in your heart for you to create, not to silence.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge for me right now as a solopreneur is marketing and really starting to attract the clients who would love the support that I could offer them. The coaching itself I love and am really good at.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Family is number one. Genuine authenticity - being who you are, no more masks. Work-life balance is a huge value I have recently adopted and learned.
