About Lucretia
Lucretia Bowman is the CEO of Transformational Journey, LLC, where she has delivered coaching and consulting services for 34 years. Operating from Cincinnati, Ohio, she concentrates on guiding women to discover who they are from the inside out, independent of external circumstances, and she oversees affordable housing initiatives for women emerging from life-controlling issues. Bowman holds a life coach license and serves as a licensed pastor. Her educational foundation comes from the School of Hard Knocks. She contributes to her community through board service on the advisory board of the Hamilton County reentry program as well as board positions with Embracing Change, Divine Corps, and Freedom Life. She also supports causes such as Women Help on Women, Impact 100, and initiatives assisting the elderly. Bowman attributes her success to her faith, learning to love herself, a strong surrounding community, and a willingness to tackle difficult challenges. She values honesty, trust, relationships, and especially her faith, which keeps her strong, focused, and true. Among the advice she offers is to always be true to oneself and to give to others only what one has first given to oneself.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I believe first my faith, learning to love myself, having a great community around me, and willing to do the hard things in life.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Always be true to thyself.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
That you could only give to someone else what you have given to yourself.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges are people wanting to dig deep authentically but struggling with consistency and accountability, influenced by social media making things seem fast. The greatest opportunities are collaborative working in a synergy way, bringing women together as a team so we complete each other rather than compete.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, trust, relationships with others and with your values and beliefs, and my top one is my faith which keeps me strong, focused, and true.
