Ludie Hansen, MS, CCS-SLP, is a highly experienced dementia specialist and caregiver mentor, dedicated to supporting families navigating the challenges of cognitive decline, Alzheimer’s disease, and other neurological conditions. With over three decades of experience in speech-language pathology, she empowers families with practical strategies, education, and emotional guidance, helping them manage the complexities of elder care with confidence, empathy, and resilience.
Throughout her career, Ludie has provided personalized mentoring, workshops, and support groups, addressing both the emotional and practical aspects of caregiving. She specializes in educating families on communication strategies, understanding disease progression, and balancing caregiving responsibilities with personal and professional life. As the owner of Ludie’s Revival, she combines professional expertise with personal insight from her own caregiving experiences to deliver comprehensive, compassionate support.
Ludie holds a Master of Science in Communication Disorders from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and a Clinical Competency Certificate in Speech-Language Pathology (CCS-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She is also actively involved in community advocacy, supporting organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Association and local SPCA animal shelters. Outside of her professional work, Ludie enjoys spending time with her spouse of 35 years, four daughters, four grandchildren, and her pets, as well as traveling. Her experience, compassion, and commitment make her a trusted resource for families seeking guidance through life’s most challenging transitions.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the life experiences and challenges that have shaped me, as well as the personal health journey of my daughter’s battle with cancer. These experiences have strengthened my resilience, deepened my empathy, and reinforced my commitment to supporting others through difficult circumstances. They have taught me the value of perseverance, compassion, and the importance of using both professional expertise and personal insight to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those I serve.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to explore the different avenues available, take the time to discover where your passions truly lie, and embrace your authentic self throughout the journey. By being genuine, pursuing what you love, and remaining open to diverse opportunities, you can build a fulfilling and impactful career while staying true to your values and strengths.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field is addressing the stress and repetitive demands placed on caregivers and families navigating dementia and neurological conditions. Helping individuals and families develop strategies to manage stress, maintain emotional well-being, and find meaningful routines not only supports their resilience but also creates opportunities for more effective, compassionate care and improved quality of life for both caregivers and their loved ones.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in both my work and personal life center on being present and providing unwavering support to others. I prioritize meaningful interaction and open communication, recognizing that genuine connection is essential for building trust, fostering understanding, and helping people navigate life’s challenges with confidence and compassion.
