About Luisa
Luisa Vielledent brings more than 15 years of experience to the nutrition field, with a career that began immediately after college at the Head Start Region 19 program. There she handled nutrition education, facilitation, trainings, food ordering, special diets, and overall administration for multiple school sites. She later worked in a family business before returning to nutrition at a privately owned pediatric clinic, where she has remained since its reopening and creates personalized meal plans based on individual patient data and conditions. Her main areas of expertise include nutrition, finance, and education. She holds the CHES certification as a Health Education Specialist and earned her bachelor's degree, starting at Incarnate Word and completing it at the University of Texas at El Paso with a minor in community nutrition. During her practicum she contributed to a university publication examining the link between cactus supplements and diabetes control. Luisa serves on the board of the EPDA and maintains memberships in the We Hispanos Culture Foundation, the ADA, and the El Paso Diabetes Association, through which she also volunteers.
