Her Interview
Ten minutes with Luisana
01What do you attribute your success to?
I owe my success to my mother and father. They came to this country for a better future for me and my brother. Anytime I win, they feel like they're winning too. When I achieve something, I did it for them.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received was keep going. Never get above it and keep going.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never give up. Water your own plants. The grass is greener wherever I go because I water my own clams. Believe in yourself even when everyone else is not believing you. Go where you're appreciated.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
My biggest challenge is laying back sometimes. I can be a little bit intense when it comes to work and want everything to be perfect. I'm very hard on myself when I make a mistake, but I need to understand that I'm only human.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Don't take everything so serious. Life is amazing, and some days are good days, some days are bad days, but as long as you're living it, and you're in the moment, that's the most important part.
