Her Story
About Luma
I’m an HR and compensation leader with a passion for transforming workforce strategy through thoughtful compensation design and HR technology. My work sits at the intersection of people, data, and strategy, where I focus on turning complexity into clarity and building systems that elevate both employee experience and business outcomes. I’m guided by the belief that nothing is impossible and nothing cannot be learned, and I lead with authenticity - never believing we should fit into a mold. I’m especially passionate about empowering other women to grow with confidence and lead in their own way.

Ten minutes with Luma
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a mindset rooted in possibility and continuous learning. I’ve always believed that nothing is impossible and that every skill can be learned with curiosity, discipline, and perseverance. I don’t see obstacles as stop signs, but as problems waiting to be solved. I’ve been fortunate to learn from strong mentors, especially my mother, who always reminded me that when there’s a will, there’s a way.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Ask for forgiveness, not permission
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Do not settle, ask for what you want respectfully, and do not let anyone fit you into a mold that is simply "not you"
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is balancing speed with sustainability. Organizations are being asked to modernize HR systems, redesign compensation, and respond to talent pressures faster than ever—often while managing cost constraints and change fatigue. The opportunity lies in using data and technology more intentionally, not just to automate processes, but to create clarity, equity, and better decision-making. When HR, compensation, and technology are aligned, they become a powerful driver of culture and performance. The leaders who succeed will be the ones who view people strategy as a long-term investment, not a short-term fix.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are integrity, authenticity, and continuous growth. I believe in showing up honestly, staying true to who I am, and doing the right thing - even when it’s difficult
