Luz Guevara Bigelow

Luz Bigelow began her career in insurance in 1996 after being laid off from a marketing director role at Dudley Products. She worked at Prudential Insurance, then Allstate as a sales producer, owned an Allstate agency from 2000 to 2007, spent time at Farm Bureau, and later joined State Farm before returning to education. She earned a communications degree from Hunter College in New York and later obtained her teaching licensure from Greensboro College. Bigelow has received awards from Farm Bureau, recognition for best service to the Spanish community at Allstate, achieved sales goals at State Farm, and was named Teacher of the year. She has been highlighted in the Triad Business Journal, a marketing newsletter, and by Hispanos Unidos. Currently, she is setting up an independent insurance agency while teaching and providing private tutoring. She is a certified Toastmaster International, a member of Definition Church, and has volunteered with Meals on Wheels.
