About Lydia

Lydia Cao is a junior finance and accounting student at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, where she is also minoring in entrepreneurship at the McDonough School of Business. She is actively involved in several organizations, serving as vice president of the McDonough School of Business Student Body Government, a consumer and retail analyst with Georgetown Collegiate Investors, and head of communications and student leader for Campus Outreach, a Protestant ministry on campus. In addition to her academic and extracurricular pursuits, Lydia interns at Station DC, supporting up-and-coming founders and companies in the tech and government policy space. She previously completed a regional internship at the Bank of Missouri, rotating across departments including commercial banking and retail, building a marketing spend dashboard using Agentic AI and Excel, and conducting stablecoin research. Drawn to numbers since high school, Lydia has long been fascinated by how money flows through industries and is eager to explore business psychology through her studies and professional opportunities, including a search for summer 2027 internships in finance and accounting.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be bold and don't shy away from hard opportunities because you feel like you don't belong. Learn to be comfortable with being uncomfortable and take up space in rooms that are male-dominated. Maintain a credible and professional presence.
