01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Probably give each person a voice, right? So, however they use that voice. It doesn't always have to be vocal communication. In my field… communication is multiple things, right? It's gesturing, it's ASL, it's body language, it's Social language, and so just give them a choice, give that person, excuse me, give that person a voice. Offering them different choices of communication, honor their requests, and… But. I guess that's the biggest thing for me, is just… Finding that voice in yourself, and then giving the next person a voice, and usually things tend to… Progress when you do that.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I'd say probably… There's always a reason for behavior. And. Understanding the reason behind the behavior. Can really make… Life, and supporting the right Target in person, either, because behavior often communicates a need, right? So if we look at what happens before and even after a behavior, instead of just trying to stop the behavior or trying to abruptly change the behavior, you'd probably have. Better… Progress and better… more chances for victory in the future.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I will say, because we're working with so many, In so many different settings, that a big challenge can sometimes be consistency. So, behavior is… it is or it isn't, and it's based off of the learning behind it, right? And if so, you're learning a new technique, a new skill, if you do it once or twice, you're probably not gonna learn it, and not in the way that it's a mastered learning. And… if you do learn it in one setting, but then you're not learning it in another setting, it's probably not going to carry over and not generalize, and it's not going to be a true master's skill. And so, I guess a big, challenge, I would say, is if it's not Being consistently implemented and taught in other settings, that can be quite difficult. To help generalize that actual skill. A… Strength, and a positive thing, I would say, is also the same, the collaboration. When you do have true collaboration with all involved in In my age range population, you really see the work of… the fruit of the labor between the client and everyone involved, and how Small victories can turn into lifestyle changes.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I'd probably say support. And… Determination. Willingness to be flexible. I think those are pretty important values in both my life, professionally and personally. If I… can't feel like I… can… try a new pathway, or something's not working, but I can't Step out of my comfort zone to try something new and be flexible with it, I might not learn, I might not be able to take that next step into progression. Determination, right? If something's not… fitting the mold that I've created myself, can I continue to… Modify that mold and and still be okay, still feel like I'm. where I'm supposed to be. And… The support of others, I'm a firm believer that you can't do life. without a firm foundation of support, and I've learned through that, both professionally and personally in life.
