Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lynda
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would say my kids and my husband, more so my husband, he took on a big load for me to go back to school, and he's always been supportive of every crazy idea I've ever had. So, I would say my husband, you know, direct family.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is don't take it personal. It's all strictly business. And it'll be here tomorrow.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Come as you are. And don't take it personally. Be patient. Own it, because it's a lot. Our industry is a lot. We take on a lot in this industry. There's a lot of compliance. If a mistake happens, just own it. Own it, don't take it personal, and move on.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Time is the biggest challenge. We're up against a lot in our portfolios, and as much as you try to simplify it, you can't. Balancing the act of the portfolios, and balancing the time that goes into it, and then finding time for yourself after to develop yourself in the industry is difficult. Because you can't just take a day off or take a week off to go to training.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Professionally and personally, I think just being ethical. Be ethical and authentic. I think those are two really key components, and then of course just being kind. So honest, ethical.
