Her Interview

Ten minutes with Lynn

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to more than 20 years of experience in accounting, my transition into forensic accounting, which has given me a deeper understanding of financial records, and my current role at Hitachi Energy, where I process invoices for a large plant.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to do what I can during my eight hours at work and leave work there. I try not to take work home because it will still be there the next day, and I believe in making time for family and friends.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this field is not to let the stress overwhelm you. Stay positive, avoid negativity, do your best, and remember that there is always tomorrow to keep learning and moving forward.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is staffing shortages and the lack of adequate backup. These challenges highlight the importance of building stronger teams and having reliable support in place.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me are maintaining a healthy work-life balance and making time to spend with my family. I believe both are essential to staying fulfilled and grounded.
