Her Story

About Dr. Lynn

I graduated from New York Chiropractic College in 1981 after 5 years of study, and I've been practicing for 45 years. I fell in love with the holistic viewpoint because the nervous system goes everywhere, and I became a breathworker as soon as I became a chiropractor. The combination of healing the vagus nerve through breathwork has been my focus for decades, and everything I've been teaching for 45 years is now becoming so popular - breathwork and vagus nerve work are the fad right now. I have a major story that pulls in me professionally and personally. 12 years ago, there was a mudslide that destroyed my homes and killed my family. The tools that I teach and have seen work over the past 50 years totally work on the hardest thing a human being could ever go through, which is loss of children. So it's gone full circle for me to have this personal, professional background in holistic neurology. I've had 4 centers in Palm Beach County, but I'm now in semi-retirement as a one woman show. I'm moving into education online because I really feel I can help more people with knowledge. My focus is on how the vagus nerve is under attack from our cell phone posture. I had a non-profit called the Looking Up Movement, though I closed it after giving up on humanity for a little while about the cell phones. With our heads down to our belly button and twisted for one-side texting, we're pinching the vagus nerve all day long with unhealthy breath and posture. The body makes wrong decisions hormonally from stress. I call it the natural disaster that we are in control over. When you use your breath and fall in love with your breath, your breath space is open - open throat, open chest - and you immediately realize you need to just pick the phone up and breathe fully.

01What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Our society right now has the vagus nerve under attack from our cell phone posture. With our heads down to our belly button and twisted for one-side texting or checking the phone, we're pinching the vagus nerve and the body's making the wrong decisions hormonally from stress. We have obesity, anger, depression - I'm not saying it's the whole thing, but it's the physical natural disaster that we are in control over. People are running around in high cortisol levels, and it could just be the vagus nerve. We have a wild society that is suffering holistically from pressure on the brain and nervous system. I gave up on humanity for a little while about the cell phones - I still can't even get chiropractors to look up and breathe. People are addicted, and the phone is addictive, but this posture makes it so hard to change. But if you use your breath and fall in love with your breath, then your breath space is open and you immediately realize you need to just pick the phone up and breathe fully.
