About Lynne
Lynne Jeter is an award-winning author, editor, and journalist whose career spans more than two decades of producing compelling books, feature stories, and business journalism. As the founder of Jeter Press/The Writing Desk, she has built a reputation for transforming complex subjects into engaging narratives that resonate with broad audiences. Her expertise spans business writing, investigative reporting, editing, and storytelling, earning her recognition as a trusted voice across multiple industries.
Throughout her career, Lynne has authored and contributed to significant works that have received national and international attention. Her book Disconnected: Deceit and Betrayal at WorldCom, published by Wiley, was the first book released on the WorldCom bankruptcy and became an Amazon Top 10 business pre-seller, later appearing on recommended reading lists at universities worldwide. She also authored Chief, the biography of the late Choctaw Chief Phillip Martin, chronicling his transformational leadership in guiding the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians from poverty to prosperity. Most recently, she served as a weekly business columnist for Magnolia Tribune, covering economic development, innovation, technology, manufacturing, and business leadership across the Southeast.
Before launching her full-time writing career, Lynne spent 15 years in property management, ultimately serving as a supervisor for one of her state's largest property management firms. Seeking greater balance while raising her family, she transitioned into professional writing in 1998, where her success quickly surpassed her previous career. Today, she continues to write, edit, and develop meaningful projects, including her forthcoming manuscript, The Table of Four, which explores the intersections of mahjong, business, culture, and community. Known for her curiosity, meticulous research, and ability to tell stories that inform and inspire, Lynne remains dedicated to producing work that leaves a lasting impact.

Keep moving. You've got to build a very thick skin.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Attracting haters is easy in writing, and financial challenges from delayed book payments require bridge loans while focusing on the project.
