About Lynnel
Lynnel Townsend serves as CEO and Founder of SHS&S Organization, an LLC she leads after accumulating over 30 years of experience in healthcare, with 18 years in professional roles as a Direct Support Professional. In this capacity, she acts as a frontline caregiver ensuring compliance with standards from the National Association of Direct Support Professionals. Her professional development includes completion of more than 110 training modules and 40 to 50 tests through Relias Learning, building on a high school education. Townsend has transitioned to working independently, creating programs that equip average caregivers and healthcare professionals with essential skills to combat burnout and support patients moving from hospital settings. These initiatives emphasize collaboration across companies and have gained national attention on LinkedIn and Instagram by addressing shared challenges in an ecosystem approach involving social workers, case managers and other healthcare professionals who suffer from the same burnout as the families they serve.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to experience, persistence, and the ability to recognize a need and create a practical solution to address it.
After more than 30 years of hands-on caregiving experience, I understand the challenges caregivers face from experience, not simply from research or observation. I also learned to listen — to caregivers, families, and healthcare professionals — and allow those experiences to continually strengthen what I provide.
Most importantly, I have stayed committed to the problem I set out to address. SHS&S was built from real experiences, tested with real families, and refined over time.
I did not build it around what was traditional. I built it around what I saw was missing.
That willingness to see the gap, stand behind my experience, and keep moving forward even when the approach was unconventional is what I attribute much of my success to.
